Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant – Hands-on Finance Leadership Role

Take ownership. Drive performance. Influence growth.

Are you an ambitious Senior Accountant looking for the opportunity to lead a finance function and make a real commercial impact?

We’re seeking a proactive, commercially minded finance professional to take ownership of our day-to-day finance function, working closely with the Managing Director to support the continued growth of our £25 million turnover business, with approximately 55 employees and a portfolio of established brands.

This is an exciting phase of growth, offering a highly visible role where you’ll have autonomy to improve processes, influence decision-making, and help shape the future of the business. This hands-on role combines technical accounting with commercial partnering, requiring equal comfort in producing management accounts and analysing margins, forecasting cash flow, and challenging the business to drive profitability.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of the finance function, reporting directly to the Managing Director.
  • Produce accurate monthly management accounts with meaningful analysis and commercial insight.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections to support business planning.
  • Monitor working capital, including debtors, stock, and supplier performance.
  • Deliver budget versus actual (BvA) reporting, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Analyse performance across multiple brands, spotting opportunities to improve margins and profitability.
  • Partner with the leadership team to support pricing, cost control, investment decisions, and future growth.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships, providing financial guidance and constructive challenge where needed.
  • Manage VAT, payroll coordination, and year-end preparation, collaborating with external advisers as required.
  • Continuously improve finance processes, reporting, and systems to support a growing business.
  • Support commercial negotiations using robust financial analysis and insights.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
