Senior Accountant / Client Manager

About the Role

FHP Accounting, a growing UK practice with expertise in general trading businesses and specialist property accounting (including service charge accounts, RTM companies, and RMC management), is seeking an experienced and proactive Client Manager. This hands-on role requires ownership of a varied client portfolio, acting as the primary point of contact, and supporting the wider team.

The ideal candidate thrives on diversity, excels in client relationships, and stays ahead of industry trends. The role involves close collaboration with the practice principal, management of subordinate team members, and maintaining high business standards. This is a fully office-based position based in Nottingham City Centre, with flexibility offered for full-time or part-time arrangements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients, fostering long-term relationships
  • Address day-to-day client queries (including general tax inquiries) with timely, accurate, and clear responses
  • Proactively inform clients of HMRC updates, legislative changes, and industry developments affecting them
  • Deliver exceptional client service, exceeding expectations consistently

Accounts, Tax & Compliance

  • Lead the preparation and quality review of statutory year-end accounts for clients
  • Prepare and review personal tax returns (SA100) and corporation tax returns (CT600)
  • Manage VAT return preparation, submission, and compliance
  • Process and submit client payroll accurately and on-time
  • Assist with service charge account preparation during peak periods

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
