Job Title: Senior Accountant

Location: Remote — UK

Sector: Managed IT Services / Technology Group

About the Role

Our client, a family of industry-leading technology service businesses operating internationally, is hiring for a Senior Accountant within the UK region. The successful candidate will have direct input into the future build-out of the UK operation. You'll take a lead role in the financial reporting process, implement accounting best practices across operating companies, and build relationships with finance leads across the wider portfolio, while collaborating closely with the Regional Accounting team and Regional CEO.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and lead the monthly closing, reporting, and consolidation process
  • Support Operating Companies with internal accounting and finance needs
  • Coordinate and assist with audit requests, internal control, and GAAP compliance for both the US Audit and statutory audits within Operating Companies
  • Identify and address complex financial issues
  • Implement and maintain consistent accounting practices across portfolio companies
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end accounting closes for portfolio companies
  • Assist with preparation of consolidated financial reports for the holding company
  • Support the financial onboarding of newly acquired companies and their finance leaders
  • Manage audit work for the holding company and its portfolio companies
  • Assist organisation-wide initiatives such as system migrations, improving processes & controls, compliance with accounting guidelines, metrics tracking, etc.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred but not required
  • International tax background preferred — including compliance and statutory requirements
  • Experience with UK/Ireland statutory audit filings
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP compliance
  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience in Accounting or Finance
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with advanced working knowledge of Excel
  • Previous experience with QuickBooks, Xero, and Microsoft Business Central preferred
  • Experience working at an MSP, MSSP, SaaS, or IT business preferred
  • Ability to work with extreme autonomy and an ownership mindset
