Job Description

Reporting to the Corporate R2R Manager, the Corporate Senior Accountant will support in and take responsibility for delivering the monthly management reporting schedules, statutory accounts, and key statistical analysis for the Corporate entities within the EMEA Finance Operations structure.

The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with key regional stakeholders, delivering accurate and insightful data to help support key decision-making and strategy development. This role will provide the opportunity to work across many areas of finance and receive strong exposure to senior finance & functional leaders, representing a great platform for developing a career at Sage.

This is a hybrid role, 3 days per week from our Newcastle office.

Key Responsibilities

Summary of Role

This role sits within the Record to Report (R2R) team and supports the Corporate market, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong governance, and high-quality service to internal stakeholders. You'll play a key role in month-end close, statutory reporting, audits, and technical accounting, while contributing to strategic finance projects and continuous improvement across Finance Operations.

What I Will Be Doing

  • You’ll support the end-to-end R2R process, ensuring month-end close activities are completed accurately and on time, with clear commentary and analysis on key financial movements.
  • You’ll assist with budgeting and forecasting where required, maintain high-quality balance sheet reconciliations, and ensure review actions are completed to support accurate financial reporting.
  • The role includes coordinating internal and external audits, supporting the preparation of statutory financial statements, and working closely with local Finance Controllers, Tax, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality financial reporting.
  • You’ll also contribute to strategic initiatives such as M&A, ledger alignment, and wider corporate projects, while providing support on technical accounting areas including foreign exchange and hedging.
  • Alongside operational delivery, you’ll help drive process improvements, share best practice, mentor colleagues within Finance Operations, and build strong relationships across Finance, Tax, Treasury, and Financial Accounting, Reporting & Control teams.

What We Are Looking For

  • We’re looking for someone with strong Record to Report or financial accounting experience, ideally within a multinational or shared services environment.
  • You should have a solid understanding of financial reporting, balance sheet management, statutory accounting, and audit processes, together with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • You’ll be comfortable working across multiple stakeholders, managing competing priorities, and contributing to both operational delivery and strategic finance projects.
  • Experience with technical accounting, continuous improvement initiatives, and mentoring colleagues would be highly beneficial.
  • We're looking for someone who is collaborative, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality financial outcomes while driving ongoing improvements.
