Senior Accountant
Senior Accountant
Location: London (Hybrid) Salary: £70,000+ DOE
A leading insurance broker is seeking a qualified ACA/ACCA accountant with a minimum of 1 year’s PQE to join their Accounting & Regulatory Policy team.
Essential Requirements
- Experience at a Big 4 firm (equivalent Audit or Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS/FASS) accepted).
- Hands-on experience auditing insurance brokers is essential. Applicants without insurance broker audit experience will not be considered.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS.
Reporting to the Head of Accounting & Regulatory Policy, this role involves:
- Supporting the Group’s accounting policy framework, technical accounting and regulatory reporting.
- Ensuring compliance with UK GAAP, IFRS, and FCA requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Group accounting and regulatory policies.
- Assess and implement new accounting standards and regulatory changes, preparing technical accounting papers.
- Support complex accounting matters and technical calculations.
- Assist with acquisition accounting, M&A reporting, and legal entity reporting.
- Prepare FCA regulatory returns, ONS submissions, and wind-down planning calculations.
- Support governance, controls, continuous improvement initiatives, and teams including Accounting & Regulatory Policy and CASS 5.

About You
You will be a technically strong accountant with:
- Excellent analytical skills.
- High attention to detail.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
