Vero Recruitment has been exclusively appointed to recruit a Senior Accountant on a 12-month fixed term contract for a leading Aberdeen headquartered organisation operating within the global energy and industrial services sector.

The role:

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Senior Accountant will play a key role within the Finance Team, providing financial support and insight to specific operational areas of the business.

This is a broad and commercially focused role, combining management accounting, financial analysis, business partnering, and process improvement. The successful candidate will work closely with operational leaders to improve financial performance, strengthen reporting, and support effective decision-making across the organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing accurate and timely management accounts, forecasts, budgets, and financial analysis for operational business areas
  • Providing commercial insight through review of performance against budget and forecast
  • Working closely with Operations Managers to understand business drivers, improve financial understanding, and support decision-making
  • Managing and controlling purchase orders, business expenses, and working capital processes
  • Reviewing, reconciling, and reporting revenue streams to ensure accurate and timely invoicing
  • Preparing customer profitability analysis and supporting commercial activities including tenders and pricing reviews
  • Maintaining robust balance sheet reconciliations and supporting audit requirements
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, reporting, and financial controls
  • Supporting wider finance initiatives and contributing to the development of a high-performing finance team

Who we’re looking for:

This role will suit a qualified and/or experienced accountant who enjoys working closely with the wider business and using finance to drive improvement.

The successful candidate will be a confident communicator, comfortable partnering with operational teams, and able to translate financial information into meaningful business insight. Strong accounting skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage deadlines are essential.

To be considered you should be available to start in September.
