Application Deadline: 17 July 2026 Department: Finance Location: Newcastle upon Tyne Compensation: £32,000 - £33,000 / year

Description

Join our Finance Department as a Senior Accounts Assistant - Finance Operations!

We are Cintra. Known for our award-winning software that delivers payroll solutions to over 1000 clients. If you're passionate about payroll and are eager to join a dynamic team of seasoned professionals, this is the opportunity for you.

As the proud recipient of the Payroll Service Provider of the Year 2025 award at the CIPP Annual Excellence Awards, we offer exciting opportunities for professional development, competitive bonus structures, and a collaborative work environment.

Our modern offices are located in Hoults Yard, nestled on the outskirts of the vibrant Ouseburn Valley. This area boasts a thriving creative community, rich local heritage, and a lively social scene.

Why This Role Is Different

If you get real satisfaction from a clean reconciliation, cannot help but spot where a process could work better, and are the person colleagues trust when they hit a wall, this role was built for you. As Senior Accounts Assistant in our Finance Operations team, you will own a broad range of transactional accounting responsibilities, lead the billing process end to end, and be the first point of escalation for the AR/AP team. You will also be part of a team actively embracing AI and smarter ways of working, and we want someone who is genuinely excited by that.

  • Own transactional accounting duties including AP, AR, reconciliations and journal postings, maintaining accuracy and consistency across everything you touch
  • Take the lead on billing, ensuring invoices are raised correctly, on time and fully reconciled to reported income
  • Carry out thorough reconciliations across bank accounts, supplier statements and intercompany balances, investigating discrepancies and seeing them through to resolution
  • Be the first point of escalation for AR/AP queries, providing clear guidance and practical training to team members
  • Identify process improvements and actively contribute to the Finance team's continuous improvement agenda
  • Build deep expertise in Sage Intacct and use AI tools to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy across the function

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
