As a dynamic and growing accountancy firm with over 1,200 employees, we are seeking a Senior to join our innovative and forward-thinking Accounts & Business Advisory team, to support the Dains group.
You will be responsible for preparing high-quality, accurate accounts, assisting in the progression of trainees and semi-seniors, and overseeing a small number of clients at the direction of the Manager.
This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and personable individual to join a supportive team, where experienced senior members are always available to mentor, guide, and help you grow and succeed.

Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently prepare statutory and management accounts to a good standard ready for Manager/Partner review
- Work confidently at clients’ premises on a variety of matters
- Efficiently plan jobs for preparation for self or trainees/technicians and ensure work is completed on time and within budget
- Perform detailed technical work, contribute to technical or other discussions with the client, showing commercial awareness, skill, and initiative in handling complex matters
- Maintain a working knowledge and understanding of current technical matters
- Proactively provide appropriate training and supervision to more junior team members
- Advise clients on basic accounting and tax matters
- Oversee a small number of clients including managing workflow, preparation, review, and meeting statutory deadlines, at the direction of the Manager / Partner
- Proactively identify added value items for the client and highlight to Manager/Partner as appropriate
- Support Manager/Partner in existing client relationships and play a key role in maintaining these relationships
- Deal with client day-to-day queries in an efficient manner with minimal input from Manager/Partner

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Education: You preferably hold an ACA or ACCA qualification, with knowledge of the main accounting systems in the marketplace
Technical Skills: You are able to offer a range of accounting services to clients including the preparation of statutory/management accounts to a good standard ready for Manager/Partner review
Communication Skills: You are credible and able to build strong trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. You regularly communicate progress and challenges with team members and your line manager
Teamwork: A team player who leads by example, you provide training and supervision to junior team members in respect of processes, practices, and systems/software, offering constructive feedback when appropriate. You take ownership of delivery for tasks, planning, and scheduling your work to ensure it is completed on time and within budget
Strategic Vision: You demonstrate strategic awareness and are able to apply your knowledge to understand and articulate the wider impact of the Accounts & Business Advisory team to other specialisms
