About the Role
We are recruiting an experienced Acoustic Consultant (Scientist/Engineer) with 6+ years of relevant expertise to join our Noise, Acoustics & Vibration team in Brighton, London, or Milton Keynes.
Key Responsibilities
The role involves (but is not limited to):
- Defining scope of work for new projects.
- Conducting and guiding environmental and on-site noise/vibration measurements.
- Demonstrating proficiency in environmental, building, and architectural acoustics (e.g., sound insulation, reverberation times).
- Autonomously performing environmental noise and vibration assessments.
- Utilising acoustic modelling software like SoundPLAN, CadnaA, NoiseMap, and building acoustics prediction tools.
- Designing effective noise and vibration mitigation measures.
- Leading small project teams and managing deliverables.
- Building strong client relationships, ensuring expectations and milestones are met.
- Writing clear, concise technical reports for both small and large projects.
- Providing technical problem-solving advice and adhering to quality control protocols.

Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in acoustical engineering, civil engineering, architectural acoustics, or environmental engineering, with a focus on noise/vibration (preferred).
- 6–10 years of experience in environmental or building acoustics.
- Hands-on experience in acoustic design, noise/vibration engineering, and instrumentation.
- Expertise in noise guidelines, modelling techniques, and calculations.
- Proficiency in SoundPLAN, CadnaA, NoiseMap, and industry-standard simulation software.
- Track record of strong client partnerships with demonstrated success in meeting project deadlines and managing costs.
- Ability to work independently in a consulting environment with minimal supervision.
- Proven initiative, problem-solving skills, and multi-tasking agility.

- Full, clean UK driving licence.
- Ability to travel occasionally across the UK.

- Advanced Microsoft Excel & Word proficiency.
- Max/MSP, AutoCAD (drawings), ArcGIS/QGIS/GIS experience.

Locations: Brighton, London, or Milton Keynes.
Salary: £40,000–£50,000 GBP (negotiable based on experience and location).
