Background
The Actuarial Solutions team is part of Group Actuarial and is responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting Everest’s global pricing tools, which are key to the success of Everest’s reinsurance business.
This is an opportunity for an actuary with experience in developing reinsurance pricing tools, or a reinsurance pricing actuary with an interest in developing pricing tools, to play an active role in a worldwide project upgrading Everest’s global reinsurance pricing tool.
The Actuarial Solutions team is also responsible for other technology-related applications, such as reporting, process automation, etc. across pricing, reserving, and other actuarial work, group-wide.
Preferred location: Zurich, London, possibly New York or Warren, NJ.
Key Responsibilities
- Working as part of the Actuarial Solutions team contribute to the development of the new Everest’s Reinsurance pricing tool
- Propose UI designs, actuarial methodologies, platform architecture, etc., consistent with Everest’s reinsurance pricing approaches
- Gather and respond to user feedback from pricing tool users, actuaries and underwriters, on reinsurance pricing.
- Program pricing tool features
- Help ensure the quality and reliability of the new platform through involvement in testing and quality control
- Collaborate with IT and other internal teams on the pricing tool build

In addition, as part of the Solutions team support business-as-usual pricing tool operation:
- Support users through troubleshooting, debugging, and issue-resolution for Solutions applications
- Help represent the wishes of international (worldwide excluding US) users in wider discussions
- Help prepare user documentation, guidance materials, and training content.
- Support reinsurance pricing during renewal periods using Everest’s pricing tools.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
- Experience in developing reinsurance pricing tools, for example being involved in programming, architecture or UI design etc.
- Strong interest in software development, with experience in at least some of the following: Python, VBA/Excel, SQL, web application development.
- 5 years relevant experience
- Experience working with commercially available platforms for (re)insurance pricing tools an advantage
- Experience and interest in leveraging AI for the efficient development of high-quality applications
- Strong data manipulation skills, ideally using SQL, Python (Pandas/Polars), or R (dplyr).
- Experience in reinsurance pricing.
- Familiarity with modern software development practices (e.g., Git, unit testing, AI).
Qualifications / Experience / Aptitudes
- University degree in science, actuarial science, IT / data-science, mathematics, or a related technical field.
- Qualified actuary or actuarial experience, or actively working toward actuarial qualifications
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Team player with experience working on large or complex software projects.
