Senior Actuarial Analyst - Capital

IGA Talent Solutions is delighted to be representing a leading player in the London Market. This role can be offered with secondment opportunities to the Reserving or Pricing team. Alternatively a split of working capacity (e.g. 70:30) can be considered.

This opportunity would suit either a studying actuary or someone nearing FIA status. Someone who enjoys the technical aspects of capital modelling, wants to continue building expertise in internal models, risk quantification and Solvency II capital assessment, but add project management and stakeholder relationship skills, will find this particularly appealing.

Responsibilities

  • Development and maintenance of internal capital model
  • Supporting model parameterisation, calibration, testing and ongoing model enhancement
  • Producing and analysing capital model outputs, identifying key risk drivers and explaining movements to support decision-making
  • Producing regulatory capital submissions, including Lloyd's Capital Return (LCR), PRA returns, Solvency II SCR calculations and Analysis of Change reporting
  • Performing validation, sensitivity testing and scenario analysis to support model governance
  • Working closely with senior risk and actuarial decision-makers
  • Support process improvement and automation by developing tools and enhancements to improve the efficiency, accuracy and robustness of capital modelling
  • Presenting model outputs and insights to senior management, internal model committee and chief actuary

Desired experience & skills

  • Actuarial capital experience gained within P&C insurance
  • Experience using Tyche Capital Modelling software
  • Ideally within an insurer, reinsurer, Lloyd's syndicate, managing agency or consultancy environment
  • Hands-on experience of developing, operating and testing internal capital model
  • Knowledge of Solvency II and regulatory capital frameworks (particularly pertaining to Lloyd's)
  • Strong progress towards actuarial qualification (or soon-to-be / recently qualified)
  • Excellent communication skills; comfortable presenting to peers/management
