QinetiQ’s Pendine facility—located on South Wales’ coast—is world-renowned for its capabilities in testing and evaluating defence systems, particularly in weapons and vehicle performance. This role supports the UK’s defence sector, contributing to the critical functions that protect military hardware and ensure readiness.


Your Responsibilities

As Senior Administrator, you’ll be the operational backbone of the site, ensuring administrative, compliance, and coordination tasks are executed smoothly.

Your day-to-day duties include:

  • Managing records and documentation—data entry, filing, archiving, retrieval, and secure destruction, adhering to corporate policies.
  • Providing high-quality administrative support with judgement and discretion, resolving queries independently.
  • Supporting site leadership and teams in tasks including:
    • Budget control
    • Oracle ERP rollout support
    • Ariba purchasing operations
    • General operational assistance
  • Coordinating site visits, events, and communications, including complex logistics and external/internal stakeholder engagement (e.g., corporate responsibility, team engagements).
  • Maintaining site compliance and security, including:
    • Security process adherence
    • Document registration
    • Archive management systems
  • Supporting site and facilities operations as needed, with key responsibilities including:
    • Reception cover
    • Acting Fire Warden and Facility Manager duty rotations
    • Deputising for the Team Leader when required

Essential Experience & Requirements

  • Substantial business administration experience (critical for multi-faceted support at a senior level).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently across all organisational tiers.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, with proven independent decision-making in non-standard situations.
  • Highly organised, capable of multitasking and managing competing priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant information systems (e.g., relational databases, ERP tools).
  • Ability to support team development by:
    • Training others
    • Facilitating and chairing meetings
    • Producing accurate meeting minutes

Working Arrangements

37 hours per week, 5 days onsite, based at QinetiQ’s Pendine site (South Wales).
