At The Nelson Trust, we support people affected by substance use and multiple disadvantages to make positive, lasting changes in their lives. Through our trauma-informed services, we empower individuals to achieve recovery, improve wellbeing and build brighter futures.
We are looking for a compassionate and organised Senior Admissions Support Worker to join our welcoming Admissions Team. As the first point of contact for individuals accessing our residential rehabilitation services, you will play a vital role in creating a positive, safe and supportive experience from the very beginning of their recovery journey. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with assessment experience, strong interpersonal skills and a passion for leading and developing others
Salary: £29,000 - £30,500 per annum
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9.00am - 5.00pm (with flexibility to work outside normal hours when required)
Pension: Auto-enrolment pension with 6% employer contribution
Location: Stroud, Gloucestershire

- Complete client risk and needs assessments
- Support clients through the admissions process
- Build positive relationships with referrers and partners
- Support families and signpost to relevant services
- Assist with the day-to-day running of the Admissions Team
- Line manage and support new team members
- Maintain accurate records, data and reports
- Promote trauma-informed and person-centered practice

What We Are Looking For
- Full UK driving license and access to a car
- Experience supporting people affected by substance misuse
- Knowledge of safeguarding and trauma-informed practice
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong organisational and IT skills
- Attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
- Experience supporting or supervising colleagues
- A warm, empathetic and professional approach
