The unified audiology service within Manchester Foundation Trust
The unified audiology service within Manchester Foundation Trust provides a comprehensive audiology and auditory implant service to patients of all ages and works across hospitals within Manchester. We are unique in providing all the services available within audiology under one management structure and within one NHS Trust.
You will be part of the Adult Audilogy and tinnitus team primarily based at Manchester Royal Infirmary but should be flexible in being able to work at other sites across the MFT footprint. You will provide a comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitation service using investigative and analytical skills and have an additional interest in the provision of rehabilitation for adult patients with tinnitus and / or learning disabilities. You will have appropriate registration and a minimum of BSc or equivalent training in Audiology. Additional training and support will be given where required.
The department has close educational and research links to the University of Manchester. We have UKAS accreditation for adult and paediatric services.

The post holder will work as part of the adult audiology team with input to adult hearing rehabilitation and tinnitus service with opportunities to support the development of the service and involvement in research studies in collaboration with Manchester University, NIHR and BRC.
The post holder independently performs diagnostic tests of hearing, applies scientific knowledge in the evaluation of results and makes clinical decisions concerning the patient’s management. Information, specialist advice and counselling are provided to patients, their family and carers in the areas of hearing aids and tinnitus.
