Your Role: Senior Advisor - Engineering

You will leverage your deep engineering expertise to provide critical consultation to our SMN manufacturing sites located primarily in Europe and APAC, ensuring the robustness and efficiency of our existing equipment and processes and effective planning for future capital assets.

In this role, you will be responsible for advancing technical solutions for a diverse portfolio of technologies including liquid formulation, dry/wet granulation, blending, compression, coating, and packaging. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact on a global scale, mentor other engineers, and solve complex challenges that are critical to our manufacturing strategy.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Technical Guidance & Process Optimization: Provide expert technical guidance and consultation to Elanco's Small Molecule Network sites on manufacturing equipment and process issues, advising on optimization, design, and troubleshooting for various product forms.
  • Strategic Project Leadership: Lead technical evaluations for capital projects, product launches, business development assessments, and technology assessments across Europe and APAC sites, and assist in site master plan development.
  • Capital Project Governance & Vendor Management: Coordinate capital project governance, including budgeting and forecasting, within the network, and serve as the lead technical contact for major equipment vendors.
  • Knowledge Sharing & Engineering Development: Develop and share best practices within the global engineering community, and mentor/coach junior engineering staff across the network to enhance technical capabilities.
  • Direct Technical Troubleshooting: Engage directly in troubleshooting complex technical issues and mobilize other technical experts as needed to support engineering investigations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
