Senior Advisor, Tax Affairs

Part-time (3 days per week), London-based – Reporting to the Head of Tax (Brussels)

AIMA is seeking an experienced tax professional to join its Taxation team as a Senior Advisor on a part-time basis (3 days per week). This is a senior, hands-on advisory role for an individual who brings significant expertise in tax policy and is looking to contribute that experience in a flexible, part-time capacity. The successful candidate will support the association’s advocacy, technical analysis, and research initiatives, and will be closely involved in its engagement with policymakers and member firms.

About the Role

The role is global, focusing on UK and APAC tax developments affecting the alternative investment industry, including hedge funds and private credit. The Taxation team is responsible for shaping AIMA’s tax policy positions and monitoring legislative and regulatory developments relevant to managers, funds, and investors, with a direct impact on the industry.

Team Structure

  • The team currently comprises two professionals: one based in London and one in Brussels.
  • Responsibilities are aligned geographically:
    • The London-focused role covers the UK, Asia, US, and offshore centres (e.g., Cayman Islands).
    • The Brussels-based colleague (the Head of Tax) focuses on EU and OECD developments.
  • The current London-based colleague is due to retire, and AIMA is seeking to replace them.

Key Working Relationships

  • The London-based Senior Advisor will report to the Head of Tax (Brussels) and work closely alongside them.
  • The Advisor will contribute seniority and depth of experience to help deliver AIMA’s advocacy priorities and provide informed guidance across the team’s work.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
