Senior AI Automation Engineer
Senior AI Automation Engineer (.NET & Microsoft Copilot Studio)
Location: Birmingham/London/Manchester Salary: Up to £90,000 + Benefits Type: Permanent
We're working with a leading professional services organisation that is investing heavily in AI and automation to transform the way its people work. As part of this growth, we're looking for an experienced Senior AI Automation Engineer with a strong software engineering background in C#/.NET who has more recently transitioned into building AI-powered solutions using the Microsoft ecosystem.
This is an opportunity to join a collaborative engineering team focused on designing and delivering intelligent automation solutions that have a real impact across the business.
What you'll be doing
- Design, build and maintain AI-powered applications and automation solutions using C#/.NET and Microsoft Copilot Studio
- Develop and integrate Copilot agents that streamline business processes and improve user productivity
- Build scalable APIs and backend services to support AI-enabled applications
- Integrate Copilot solutions with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Graph, Power Platform, and Azure services
- Develop Python-based automation and AI integrations where appropriate
- Work closely with architects, engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver production-ready solutions
- Contribute to engineering best practices, code reviews, and technical design discussions

What we're looking for
Essential:
- Strong commercial experience developing enterprise applications with C#/.NET
- Hands-on experience building solutions with Microsoft Copilot Studio
- Commercial experience with Python for automation, scripting, or AI integrations
- Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and integrating enterprise systems
- Good understanding of software engineering principles, clean architecture, and modern development practices
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders
