Senior AI Engineer
About Us
MyTender.io is changing how enterprise teams win tenders. We’re an AI-powered bid management platform helping teams across waste, facilities services, construction, and utilities create stronger tender submissions, faster.
The product supports bid writing, analysis, collaboration, content retrieval, and wider process management. However, the real value sits within the AI agent that connects these workflows. Rather than offering another generic writing tool, we’re building an intelligence layer designed specifically around how complex enterprise bid teams work.
Founded in 2023, we’ve grown to 12 people, now support 40+ customers, and have helped them win over £1.4b in contracts through the platform. Following recent seed backing from Fuel Ventures, we’re investing further into the product and engineering team.
We’re now hiring a Senior AI Engineer to take meaningful ownership of the agent that sits at the centre of the platform.
You might currently be an AI Engineer, Applied AI Engineer, Senior Product Engineer, or Founding Engineer. Titles matter less than the work you’ve done, but you’ll need:
- Experience shipping customer-facing AI or LLM products into production
- Strong Python engineering experience, alongside the ability to work across a wider product stack
- A clear, structured approach to solving unfamiliar technical problems
- Genuine curiosity around agent frameworks, models, and new approaches within applied AI
- The judgement to balance fast iteration with reliability, quality, and maintainable systems
- Strong communication and the confidence to challenge ideas constructively
💼 About the Role
Our AI agent is the core of MyTender, powering how our customers write, analyze, and manage complex enterprise bids. We aren't just connecting APIs; we are building a high-impact intelligence layer that is central to every customer workflow.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

As our Senior AI Engineer, you will own and evolve our agent architecture. This role goes beyond model-tuning; you'll work across our full stack, including Python backend services and React/TypeScript interfaces, to ship features that are reliable, useful, and responsive. We need a builder who is comfortable owning the full customer experience, not just the model layer, to transform how enterprise teams work.
Success Means

- 30–60 days: You are owning core features of the agent, improving performance metrics, and shipping impactful updates to production.
- 6 months+: You have significantly advanced the quality and reliability of our AI, setting the technical direction for applied AI at MyTender.
🔥 Key Responsibilities

- Build new tools, skills, and workflows that give the agent broader and more useful capabilities.
- Improve the agent harness, orchestration, and decision-making across complex bid workflows.
- Improve AI Quality and Performance
- Build practical evaluation and measurement into the development process.
- Develop ways to understand where the agent performs well, where it fails, and how changes affect quality.
- Improve context engineering, retrieval, bid-level memory, and organisation-level memory.
- Ship Across the Product
- Build and maintain production Python services supporting AI and product workflows.
- Contribute to polished React and TypeScript product experiences where required.
- Develop streaming interfaces and context-aware AI features that feel responsive and straightforward to use.
