Senior AI Engineer – Image Generation & Diffusion Models (Contract)
Location: Hybrid / UK
Duration: Initial 6–12 months
Pay Rate: £350-£400pd Outside
Hiring: Multiple AI requirements
We’re recruiting an experienced Senior AI Engineer to support a major AI transformation programme within the online fashion retail space.
This is focused on production delivery, not just research or experimentation. You’ll be helping design, build and scale AI-powered imagery and personalisation solutions that directly improve how customers discover products, visualise outfits and engage with fashion online. The programme is centred around image generation, diffusion models, multimodal AI and computer vision, with a strong focus on building scalable content pipelines and customer-facing AI features.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop image generation solutions using diffusion models
- Build and optimise AI content pipelines for fashion imagery
- Work with multimodal AI and computer vision techniques
- Support product discovery, outfit visualisation and personalised customer experiences
- Experiment with new generative AI approaches and take concepts into production
- Optimise models and pipelines for scalability, performance and reliability
- Work closely with product managers, engineers, data scientists and business stakeholders
Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with image generation and diffusion models
- Experience with generative AI frameworks such as ComfyUI
- Strong understanding of computer vision and multimodal AI
- Experience building AI content pipelines
- Python with relevant AI / ML libraries
- Experience deploying machine learning models into production
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Highly Desirable
- Fashion, retail or ecommerce experience
- Experience working on customer-facing AI products
- Knowledge of recommendation, personalisation or visual search solutions
- Experience taking AI prototypes through to scalable production delivery
