Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior AI Agent Engineer with expertise in building autonomous and collaborative AI systems. The ideal candidate will have a track record in designing, developing, and deploying agentic AI applications using Large Language Models (LLMs) such as Claude, OpenAI’s GPT models, and Google Gemini, along with supporting frameworks like Crew AI, LangChain, LangGraph, or similar tools.
As a key member of our AI team, you will drive the technical architecture and production implementation of our next-gen AI products, ensuring seamless integration into Profitero’s core offerings and internal engineer workflows.

🔧 Development & Architecture
- Design, build, and deploy LLM-based systems and agentic AI workflows using generative AI models (e.g., Claude, OpenAI, Gemini) and architectures such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
- Develop multi-agent systems, leveraging frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, or Crew AI to orchestrate complex AI workflows with reasoning, planning, memory, and tool-usage capabilities.
- Implement production-ready AI systems, ensuring performance tuning, cost optimisation, and seamless scalability.
📊 Technical Implementation
- Build and optimise custom prompts for agents, ensuring clear, efficient, and context-aware interactions.
- Integrate multi-agent systems with external data APIs, external services, and proprietary tools (MCP Servers or similar).
- Develop Python-based applications, from backend logic to RESTful API integrations, adhering to clean, maintainable, and scalable code standards.
🎭 Collaboration & Problem-Solving
- Work closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Implement testing, evaluation, and monitoring strategies for systems, ensuring reliability, safety, and ethical alignment.
- Stay abreast of the latest research in AI, LLMs, and system architectures, evaluating relevance for our product roadmap.
- Contribute to shaping the technical vision and architectures of future AI initiatives.
- Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of continuous learning.
Requirements & Qualifications
🎓 Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
💪 Experience & Technical Expertise
- 3+ years of professional experience in software development, with a strong focus on AI/ML, including hands-on work with LLMs (e.g., GPT-4, Claude, Gemini).
- Extensive experience building autonomous or multi-agent AI systems, demonstrating expertise in:
- Reasoning, memory, and structured decision-making.
- Tool use, API integration, and workflow automation.
- RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), embeddings, vector databases, and semantic search.
- Fluency in Python and knowledge of AI/ML libraries (e.g., Hugging Face, Transformers).

🛠 Framework & Protocol Familiarity
- Hands-on experience with LLM-based frameworks (e.g., Crew AI, LangChain, LangGraph, Haystack).
- Working knowledge of the Model Context Protocol (MCP) Servers.
- Experience with RESTful APIs and external service integration.
🔧 Software Development Best Practices
- Strong command of version control (Git), testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with large-scale Snowflake databases (a plus) is advantageous.
- Commitment to scalable, maintainable, and tested development practices.
