Senior AI Engineer
Location & Details
- Work Location: UK Remote (UK-based candidates only)
- Salary Range: £60,000 – £70,000
- Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role
A fast-growing organisation is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to design, build, and scale high-performance AI systems and data platforms for enterprise use.
In this collaborative, engineering-driven role, you’ll develop robust AI pipelines, transformation APIs, and scalable backend services that fuel next-generation analytics and machine learning products.
The Responsibilities
- Design & maintain production-grade AI pipelines and data processing workflows
- Develop and optimise RESTful APIs and microservices for AI applications
- Build cloud-native backend systems following best practices in software engineering
- Collaborate with Data Scientists to productionise ML models and meet enterprise requirements
- Enhance system reliability, scalability, performance observability, and security
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, comprehensive automated testing frameworks, and infrastructure automation
- Ensure seamless integration across multi-vendor enterprise platforms
- Translate technical demands into scalable, maintainable solutions

Required Skills & Experience
Core Experience
- Strong background in backend engineering, data systems, or ML engineering
- Advanced Python proficiencies (including FastAPI, Flask, or Django)
- Proven experience in building scalable APIs & microservices with optimal performance
- Deep SQL knowledge (PostgreSQL experience preferred)
- Significant experience with AWS or Azure (ideally both)
- Understanding of distributed systems & scalable architectures
- Hands-on exposure to machine learning, NLP, or AI-driven systems
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and containerisation (e.g Docker, Kubernetes)
