We’re Growing Our AI Team 🚀

Hyperlayer is on a mission to reinvent how people and businesses move money, and we need a Senior AI Engineer with big ideas to help us make it happen. This isn’t just about writing code; it’s about building the AI infrastructure for the future of payments.

You’ll dive into projects like real-time conversational AI, agentic commerce, and next-gen personalisation. If you love solving hard problems and turning wild ideas into reality, you’ll fit right in.

What You’ll Do

  • Build AI-powered features for our platform: think smart interfaces, agent-driven commerce, and automation that feels effortless.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to weave AI into payment flows and customer journeys.
  • Act as second in command to the Head of AI, taking greater technical ownership across the team's work.
  • Mentor junior engineers, supporting their technical growth and development.
  • Experiment with cutting-edge tech (LLMs, real-time APIs, multimodal AI) and turn prototypes into production.
  • Participate in system level design and architecture decisions with your peers.
  • Make sure our AI systems scale, stay reliable, remain secure, and meet financial regulation objectives.
  • Push boundaries, prototype fast, learn fast, and help define what’s next.
  • Shape the future of AI at Hyperlayer—your ideas will influence the roadmap.

You should apply if you have:

  • 5-6 years’ experience building and deploying AI/ML deployment models with the controls expected in regulated industries.
  • Solid Python and SQL skills and experience with LLM frameworks like LangChain.
  • Experience in prompt and context engineering for LLMs.
  • Comfort with cloud platforms (AWS mainly, GCP is a plus) and container tech (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with APIs, real-time systems, or streaming architectures.
  • Understanding of ML concepts and hands-on work with LLMs or generative AI.
  • A data-driven mindset - love digging into numbers and turning insights into action.
  • A creative streak and the ability to imagine what doesn’t exist yet.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Curiosity and a love for experimentation and research, always exploring what’s next in AI.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
