Location: London, Manchester, United Kingdom

Your New Role

As our Senior Air Quality Consultant, you will:

  • Deliver and manage air quality projects for internal and external clients, including industrial, residential and commercial developments.
  • Assist in the development of junior staff.
  • Handle UK and international projects while occasionally travelling.
  • Ensure success by undertaking and managing complex air quality assessments while driving positive change.

The majority of this role will be desk-based, but flexible hybrid working is available in our London or Manchester offices. Remote locations may be considered for select candidates but are not guaranteed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver air quality projects as part of a multi-disciplinary team or independently
  • Support the Air Quality Lead
  • Train and mentor junior team members to enhance project delivery
  • Stay updated on regulations, standards, and developments in air quality assessments
  • Represent or support Ramboll’s air quality services during external presentations and stakeholder engagements
  • Contribute to market-facing initiatives for air quality services
  • Support bid activities (e.g., preparing technical proposals)
  • Develop new methods and tools to improve air quality service delivery

Your New Team

You’ll be part of the Air Quality and Climate Department, working alongside technically skilled professionals globally. In the UK, you’ll collaborate on projects such as:

  • Environmental impact assessments for major developments
  • Large infrastructure and urban planning schemes
  • Industrial emissions assessments (panning and permitting)
  • Dust/odour nuisance projects
  • Air quality monitoring schemes
  • International Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESHIA)
  • Indoor air quality studies

About You

Ramboll will support your personal and professional development while providing environments for growth. To excel in this role, we seek:

  • Proven experience delivering UK air quality assessments for diverse projects
  • Technical expertise in Air Dispersion Models (ADMS, ADMS-Roads) and GIS software
  • Ability to interpret environmental guidelines, policies, and UK legal frameworks for air quality
  • Strong client/stakeholder engagement, project prioritisation, and reporting skills
  • Membership in the Institute of Air Quality Management
