The Opportunity
CGD is seeking a Senior Analog IC Design Engineer to lead the development of cutting-edge GaN Power IC solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and layout GaN power ICs using EDA tools (schematic capture, analog simulations, circuit review)
- Optimise testing methodologies for wafer-level and packaged devices, including characterisation and debugging
- Develop SPICE models for GaN ICs and contribute to IP management and patent strategies
- Provide documentation and evaluations to the engineering and management teams
Location: Cambridge, UK (with occasional travel for collaboration).
Requirements
Essential
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in:
- Electrical/Electronic Engineering
- Semiconductor Science/Physics
- Relevant computational fields
- Expertise in analog design, specifically in GaN devices
- Full EDA workflow mastery:
- Schematic capture
- Analog simulations and modelling
- Chip layout, DRC, LVS
- Device/circuit verification (PEX, PLS)
- Electrical test and prototyping experience for analog ICs (both wafer and production levels)
- Project management skills for fast-paced environments
- Collaborative nature with strong communication and presentation skills
- Precision mind with a detail-oriented attitude and patience for debugging
