The Opportunity

CGD is seeking a Senior Analog IC Design Engineer to lead the development of cutting-edge GaN Power IC solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and layout GaN power ICs using EDA tools (schematic capture, analog simulations, circuit review)
  • Optimise testing methodologies for wafer-level and packaged devices, including characterisation and debugging
  • Develop SPICE models for GaN ICs and contribute to IP management and patent strategies
  • Provide documentation and evaluations to the engineering and management teams

Location: Cambridge, UK (with occasional travel for collaboration).


Requirements

Essential

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in:
    • Electrical/Electronic Engineering
    • Semiconductor Science/Physics
    • Relevant computational fields
  • Expertise in analog design, specifically in GaN devices
  • Full EDA workflow mastery:
    • Schematic capture
    • Analog simulations and modelling
    • Chip layout, DRC, LVS
    • Device/circuit verification (PEX, PLS)
  • Electrical test and prototyping experience for analog ICs (both wafer and production levels)
  • Project management skills for fast-paced environments
  • Collaborative nature with strong communication and presentation skills
  • Precision mind with a detail-oriented attitude and patience for debugging
