Senior Analyst – Accounting & Regulatory Policy
Salary - £65,000 - £75,000
London/ Hybrid
Are you a technically strong qualified accountant looking to move into a broad accounting policy and regulatory role within a leading insurance broker? We are partnering with a well-established Insurance Broker to recruit a Senior Analyst – Accounting & Regulatory Policy to join their Corporate Finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong technical accounting background who enjoys solving complex accounting issues, interpreting new standards, and working closely with senior stakeholders. The role also offers exposure to FCA regulatory reporting, CASS 5 compliance, M&A accounting, and continuous improvement projects.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Accounting & Regulatory Policy, you will support the development and maintenance of the firm’s accounting policy framework while ensuring compliance with UK GAAP, IFRS and FCA regulatory requirements.
You’ll play a key role in delivering technical accounting guidance, supporting regulatory reporting, and providing insight across a range of complex accounting matters.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the development, maintenance and implementation of accounting and regulatory policies, procedures and guidance.
- Assess the impact of new accounting standards and regulatory developments, preparing technical papers and implementation plans.
- Analyse complex accounting issues and prepare technical position papers to support business decisions.
- Perform calculations relating to complex accounting matters, including acquisition accounting and share-based payments.
- Support M&A accounting activities, including acquisition accounting and ongoing transaction reporting.
- Prepare monthly legal entity reporting and quarterly Board reporting packs.
- Assist with FCA regulatory reporting, ONS returns and wind-down planning calculations.
- Provide support around CASS 5 compliance and wider regulatory policy activities.
- Contribute to governance, controls, peer reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Deliver technical accounting guidance and training to finance stakeholders where required.

About You
We’re looking for a qualified accountant who enjoys technical accounting and wants to develop their career within a specialist finance function.
You’ll ideally have:
- ACA or ACCA qualification with at least 1 year PQE.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS.
- Experience within insurance broking, insurance, wider financial services, or an accountancy practice technical accounting team.
- Audit candidates with strong technical accounting exposure are encouraged to apply.
- Exposure to accounting policy, group reporting or technical accounting is highly desirable.
- Experience of M&A accounting, acquisition accounting or regulatory reporting would be advantageous.
- Advanced Excel skills and ideally experience using Power BI.
