Description
This is a high-impact role joining a new established Data Enrichment team, using advanced analytics, statistical modelling and data science to turn complex data into actionable pricing insight. The Senior Analyst will identify new opportunities from existing and emerging data sources, develop robust rating factors, and deliver high-quality rate change proposals that improve commercial performance while ensuring fair customer outcomes. Working closely with stakeholders across Trading, Finance, IT, Data Engineering and external suppliers, this role will help shape innovative, compliant and scalable data-driven solutions that strengthen our pricing capability and support continuous business improvement.
What you'll be responsible for:
- Design and deploy data-driven solutions to drive business improvement
- Understand all the data available; highlight concerns & propose solutions
- Identify opportunities to harvest value from existing or new data sources; generate new rating factors
- Present and visualize data insights to stakeholders
- Work with internal stakeholders and suppliers to explore new data enrichment opportunities (DPIA, contracts, invoices, etc.)
- Collaborate with IT, Data Engineering and other teams to ensure data infrastructure and pipelines are compliant, robust, scalable, and secure
- Stay informed on market developments, competitor activity, and emerging trends; react if/as necessary
- Deliver a steady flow of high-quality rate change proposals, oversee deployment of approved rate changes
- Document rate changes, models, processes, and analytical methodologies for transparency and audit purposes
- Liaise with other teams (Trading, Finance, and operational teams, etc.) to highlight predicted impact of rate changes
- Always keep customers in mind to ensure good value to customers, with extra attention to vulnerable customers
- Fully understand every aspect of the premium calculation; understand how RADAR and rate changes in RADAR work
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science and machine learning, identify opportunities to incorporate new technologies and methodologies into the team's work
- Promote a culture of continuous learning, encourage the exploration of innovative data-driven solutions
- Mentor junior data scientists and provide expert advice to team members
- Identify leaks & opportunities and propose pricing adjustments to improve performance
- Identify, report, and action breaches and pricing errors
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards in pricing strategies and practices
- Promote data governance best practices, ensuring data integrity, quality, and security in all pricing activities

What you'll need:
- Analytical mindset, logical thinker
- Question everything; search for innovative new solutions
- Passion for data driven decisions
- Proficiency in pricing techniques, statistical modelling, and predictive analytics
- Knowledge of the insurance market
- Commercial awareness and drive for practical outcomes
- Comprehensive understanding of the motor insurance industry, its regulatory environment, and market trends
- Exceptional capability to interpret and synthesize large and complex datasets into actionable pricing recommendations
- Advanced knowledge of coding (Python, R, SQL) and data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
- Great cross-functional collaboration
- Good communication skills; ability to present complex data insights clearly and persuasively to both technical and non-technical audiences (both in writing and verbal)
- Excellent Stakeholder management skills
