Senior Analyst (Europe)

Senior Analyst – Politics, Media & Information Environments (Eastern Europe & South Caucasus)

Location: M&C Saatchi World Services | Global (Remote/Hybrid options possible) Division: M&C Saatchi World Services (part of M&C Saatchi Group) Client Focus: Governments, civil society, foundations, academia, and private sector | Critical issues: national security, social justice, and conflict prevention

About the Role

The Senior Analyst (Politics, Media & Information Environments) will focus on monitoring, analysing, and reporting on political, media, and information dynamics in Eastern Europe and the South Caucasus, with particular attention to the Western Balkans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyse political, media, and information environments in the region using media monitoring and social listening tools, acting as an in-house expert on its politics, culture, and information landscape.
  • Produce timely, relevant analyses, briefings, and strategic recommendations for all levels of the agency, both verbally and in writing.
  • Provide insight-driven support for communications strategy development, responding to ad hoc research requests as needed.
  • Develop a deep understanding of regional strategy and project objectives, guiding and informing them.
  • Offer collaborative support to other analysts on projects, regionally or thematically.
  • Conduct independent desk-based research to inform decision-making.

About You

Essential Requirements

  • Degree in International Relations, War Studies, Russian/Eastern European Studies, or a related geopolitical field.
  • Interest or prior experience in Eastern Europe, the Western Balkans, or the South Caucasus.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, with experience handling qualitative and quantitative social science data.
  • Strong writing and presentation abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred (Desirable) Skills

  • Fluency or business proficiency in Russian or another Eastern European language.
  • Experience using media monitoring or social listening tools.
  • Practical experience with qualitative/quantitative data analysis.
  • Proficiency with Structured Analytical Techniques for open-source intelligence/research.
  • Familiarity with Python programming.
