What you’ll be doing:
Want to play a key role in managing complex treasury transactions and supporting funding, liquidity and capital activity across a major UK bank?
As a Senior Analyst within GCT Transaction Management, you’ll join our Treasury Middle Office team, a specialist function within Markets Operations that sits at the centre of Group Corporate Treasury activity. Acting as the interface between GCT and the wider Group, you’ll support a broad range of high value and often complex transactions across funding, liquidity, capital management and balance sheet activity.
You’ll be involved in the full lifecycle of transactions from initial set up through to maturity, ensuring processes, controls and reconciliations are accurate and well managed. Working across products such as FX, Money Markets, Derivatives, Fixed Income and Equities, you’ll support structured transactions including securitisations and capital securities.
You’ll also contribute to strategically important Group initiatives, with opportunities to support large scale projects and operational change. It’s a collaborative, fast paced environment with strong support to help you build your technical expertise and develop your career.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
