Senior Analyst - Investments

Private Debt Analyst

Job Summary

You’ll assist in originating private debt transactions for the Global Private Debt team and take responsibility for:

  • Monitoring the performance of the assigned global private debt portfolio
  • Developing expertise in specific sectors while managing cross-sector deal flow
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with sell-side counterparties to optimise deal flow and allocations
  • Contributing to the strategic direction of Great-West Lifeco and its regional entities

What You’ll Do

Investment Analysis & Transactions

  • Evaluate new investment opportunities through:
    • Fundamental financial analysis
    • Technical and legal due diligence
    • Presentation of investment recommendations to global heads and regional CIOs
  • Coordinate with inside/outside counsel, peers and advisors to resolve legal issues for transactions and amendments

Portfolio Management

  • Regularly review and update analysis of all holdings within your assigned area to assess:
    • Suitability of existing/targeted investments
    • Credit ratings

Relationship & Deal Execution

  • Develop strategic relationships with:
    • Sell-side agents
    • Bankers
    • Issuers
  • Finalise necessary documentation, including trade tickets, and coordinate with settlement teams for funding

Process Improvement & Collaboration

  • Participate in evolving processes and adopting new technologies to drive efficiencies
  • Proactively contribute to:
    • Credit reviews
    • Asset allocation discussions
    • Economic outlook and market forecasting with the team

Who You Are

Core Qualifications

  • Expertise in financial modelling, fundamental investment analysis and legal due diligence
  • Experience in credit research with strong analytical skills, including:
    • Self-directed information-gathering
    • Drawing sound conclusions for investment positions
  • Breadth of experience across multiple investment sectors, economics and financial markets
  • Exceptional organisational skills and ability to manage priorities under tight deadlines
