About The Role
We’re looking for a Senior Energy Analyst to join our Index team on a full-time basis, reporting to the Regional Manager.
In this role, you’ll build on your existing market knowledge while continuing to develop your expertise in specific energy markets.
You’ll play an important part in maintaining the quality of our indexes, engaging with market participants, and helping GX benchmarks gain wider recognition and trust.
This role offers the chance to take ownership of your work, contribute ideas, and grow your profile in a supportive, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Taking ownership for specific market segments, including:
- Responsibility for daily price generation.
- Ensuring calculations are accurate and aligned with GX methodology.
- Engagement and relationship-building with participants and data contributors in this segment.
- Development of trade- and data-based market insights and analysis to contextualize price movements.
- Working closely with Sales and other teams to help clients understand and adopt GX data.
- Contribute to the identification and development of new markets, from early research through to index launch.
- Support GX webinars, publications and other thought-leadership content.
- Mentor and support junior analysts, sharing knowledge and best practice.
- Embed AI tooling into every day work flows to improve efficiencies.

What We’re Looking For
- 2–3 years’ experience in price discovery, price reporting, or a related role within oil or energy markets
- A relevant degree or qualification (e.g. Mathematics, Economics, Finance or similar), or equivalent practical experience
- Experience using AI tools thoughtfully and critically, knowing when and how to apply them to accelerate your work while maintaining accuracy and professional standards.
- Strong numerical skills and a careful, detail-oriented approach.
- Confidence using Excel.
- Enjoyment of working as part of a team and supporting others.
- A curious mindset with a practical, solutions-focused approach.
- Clear, confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience with Python or similar tools is a bonus, but not required.
