Senior Analyst, Pricing, Capital Solutions
Job Description
The Role
This role represents an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong actuarial background to join the Capital Solutions Pricing team at Pacific Life Re.
Reporting to the Manager, Capital Solutions Pricing, this role offers a challenging variety of work, exposure to senior stakeholders, and the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the continued development of the Capital Solutions business and the wider PL Re organisation. The role requires a strong understanding of actuarial and financial concepts, and the ability to analyse and clearly communicate new concepts.
The Capital Solutions Pricing team is responsible for assessing the risk profile of each transaction, proposing appropriate pricing to reflect that risk, and supporting decision-making around deal structuring. Given the ongoing development of new structures across multiple global markets, this role will contribute to establishing processes, best practices, and pricing frameworks across a wide range of products, risks, and regulatory regimes.
This is a varied role within a small team with a broad international remit. We are seeking a Nearly/Newly Qualified Actuary with a proven track record in an actuarial role with a focus on analysis. Prior experience in a dedicated pricing or structured solutions role is not essential; however, a strong understanding of risk assessment, pricing processes, and/or insurance balance sheets would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
Risk Assessment & Pricing
- Perform detailed assessments of potential opportunities, considering factors such as deal economics, risk profile, counterparty creditworthiness, market conditions, and regulatory constraints
- Develop, apply, and review pricing methodologies to determine appropriate pricing levels, ensuring returns are commensurate with the underlying risk exposure
- Primarily providing the risk and pricing analysis of deals, but also engaging in discussion with stakeholders on deal characteristics and the business opportunity
- Work closely with the wider Capital Solutions and PL Re teams to support the structuring of transactions that meet client needs while remaining consistent with PL Re’s risk appetite

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
