Role Overview

We are currently looking for a Senior Analytical Development Scientist to join a leading biotech and pharmaceutical services provider based in the UK. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled analytical chemist to contribute to cutting-edge drug development projects within a global leader in advancing human health. The role offers an engaging laboratory environment where you will be pivotal in method development and validation for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) manufacturing.

In this hands-on position, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, supporting project progression through meticulous method development and GMP-compliant data generation. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive scientist to make an impact within a dynamic and innovative organisation committed to improving patient outcomes.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

Your duties as the Senior Analytical Development Scientist will be varied; however, the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Develop, optimise, and validate analytical methods such as HPLC, UHPLC, and GC for small molecules and peptides in a GMP environment.
  • Conduct degradation studies and troubleshooting of laboratory techniques to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Collaborate closely with Process Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to support project timelines and data quality.
  • Maintain and adhere to GMP standards, ensuring all laboratory activities are documented accurately.
  • As the Senior Scientific Expert, you will drive continuous improvement in analytical techniques and contribute to method transfer and validation activities.

Role Requirements

To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Senior Analytical Development Scientist, we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

  • A Degree or higher level in an Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, or related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Proven laboratory experience developing, validating, and troubleshooting analytical methods such as HPLC, UHPLC, or GC in a GMP setting.
  • Strong knowledge of analytical techniques and the ability to interpret complex data effectively.
