Senior Analytics Engineer / Senior Data Analyst

Location: Watford | Hybrid (3 Days Office) Contract Duration: Initial 6-Month Contract

Our global media client is seeking an experienced Analytics Engineer to join its Data Analytics & Reporting team. This role will focus on delivering business-critical dashboards, reporting solutions, and data products that support decision-making across multiple business functions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document reporting requirements.
  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions.
  • Write and optimise SQL queries to support reporting and analytics needs.
  • Build and maintain scalable data models for reporting and visualisation.
  • Investigate and resolve reporting and data quality issues within production environments.
  • Work with Databricks and Azure Data Lake environments to support analytics solutions.
  • Deliver end-to-end reporting products from requirements gathering through to deployment.
  • Collaborate with global teams and stakeholders to provide actionable insights and reporting support.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong Power BI dashboard development experience.
  • Advanced SQL skills.
  • Strong understanding of data modelling principles.
  • Proven experience gathering requirements directly from business stakeholders.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience delivering reporting and analytics solutions from concept through to implementation.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting production reporting environments.

Desirable Skills

  • Databricks experience.
  • Analytics Engineering, BI Engineering, or Business Intelligence background.
  • Experience working in enterprise-scale environments.
  • Exposure to AI or Generative AI technologies.
  • Experience supporting global stakeholders and distributed teams.

You are a technically strong Analytics Engineer who is equally comfortable engaging with stakeholders as you are building reporting solutions.You can confidently:

  • Gather requirements and document them.
  • Design data models.
  • Develop Power BI dashboards.
  • Write complex SQL queries.
  • Take complete ownership of delivery from initial discussion through to deployment.
