About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Android Developer to join our client's innovative mobile development team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-traffic Android applications that are used by millions of users across the UK. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing new features, enhancing existing functionalities, and ensuring the delivery of a seamless user experience. This hybrid position, based in London or Manchester with two days in the office, provides a collaborative environment where technical excellence and creativity are highly valued. The Senior Android Developer will play a key role in shaping the future of the company's mobile platforms, working closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and fellow developers.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical expertise and collaborative spirit, including:
- Proven experience in developing Android applications in a commercial setting.
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
- Deep understanding of Android architecture components and design patterns.
- Experience working within Agile development teams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with modern engineering practices such as Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
- An interest in leveraging AI tools to enhance development processes.
Responsibilities
The Senior Android Developer will be responsible for:
- Designing, developing, and implementing new features for Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
- Taking ownership of technical decisions and contributing to the strategic direction of the Android platform.
- Writing clean, efficient, and scalable code that adheres to best practices.
- Collaborating with designers to create intuitive and engaging user interfaces.
- Participating in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Working within Agile teams to plan, prioritize, and deliver features on time.
- Mentoring junior developers and sharing knowledge to foster team growth and expertise.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of development processes and tools.
