Senior Android Engineer – Ohme

We want people who care: Join Ohme and play a pivotal role in accelerating the global transition to clean, affordable energy

At Ohme, we’re on a mission to power the clean energy future. As a smart-grid software and hardware platform, we connect homes, EVs, and energy providers with data and AI at the heart of our technology. Since launching our chargers in mid-2019, we’ve seen exponential growth—now partnerships with companies like VW, Mercedes, and Octopus Energy reflect our rapid progress.

This is a data and AI-first venture, scaling fast with a hungry team. If you’re ready to join a fast-growing cleantech startup at the intersection of energy, transport, and technology, this could be the role for you.

The Role: Senior Android Engineer

We’re looking for a Senior Android Engineer to lead the next generation of our Ohme Android app—the digital front door for our customers to interact with their chargers, energy features, and smart-grid services.

As a technical leader, you’ll:

  • Own and elevate the technical quality of our Android app, set the standard for engineering excellence.
  • Work closely with backend, product, and hardware teams to deliver a seamless, world-class user experience.
  • Prototype, build, and scale app components while mentoring teammates and influencing architectural/product decisions.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment where performance, elegance, and consumer impact matter most.

If you love building systems that scale and enjoy helping others grow in their roles, this is your chance.

Key Responsibilities

Core Tech Leadership

  • Design, develop, and keep our Android app—built with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose—rock-solid.
  • Champion and enforce clean architecture, MVP/MVVM, and modularity to ensure testability and ease of maintenance.
  • Collaborate with data, IoT, and firmware specialists to synchronise app logic with hardware interactions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
