Our Mobile Professional group builds the mobile app that provides financial professionals with an indispensable utility they can use while away from their desks to stay connected, solve problems, and get caught up on things they have missed. Our customers can access up-to-date market news, explore in-depth market analysis, receive instant notifications on critical market-moving events, and stay connected to the Bloomberg community while on the move.
Our Mobile teams develop, design and define the mobile experience for tens of thousands of users daily. Engineers specialising in mobile UI, client software, backend infrastructure and services work closely together to take advantage of the latest mobile technologies and techniques - all aimed at building the definitive mobile experience for the financial markets.
We are looking for an experienced Android software engineer to join our growing group of mobile engineers. With new projects on the horizon and opportunities for both technical specialists and those interested in leadership, you’ll have ample opportunity to make an impact.
We’ll Trust You To
- Become part of an established team containing a diverse mix of engineers, alongside dedicated representatives from UX, QA and Product
- Build high-quality native Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose
- Work across a highly diverse technology stack spanning Android, backend infrastructure and shared cross-platform components
- Collaborate closely with other technology teams to align technical direction and solve shared engineering challenges
- Partner with Product and UX teams to deliver intuitive mobile experiences for complex workflows
- Help foster a culture of sustained, high-quality delivery through collaboration, testing and continuous improvement
- Take ownership of challenging engineering problems related to scale, reliability and real-time systems

You’ll Need To Have
- Strong experience developing native Android applications using Kotlin
- Experience building modern Android architectures and UI systems
- Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals including concurrency, algorithms and data structures
- Experience designing maintainable, modular and testable software
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- A pragmatic and thoughtful approach to solving complex engineering problems
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or similar field of study, or equivalent experience
