JOIN THE REBELLION!
For 30 years, we’ve been independently developing and publishing incredible video games across our studios founded by Jason & Chris Kingsley, but Rebellion is more than just games. We have our own film studio, create board games, publish books, and through 2000AD, we produce comics and graphic novels such as the legendary Judge Dredd.
We’re thrilled to welcome a Senior Animation Programmer to join our passionate and experienced Tech Team, playing a key role in one of our most ambitious new large-scale projects—crafted by a team renowned for delivering exceptional shooters.
The Role: Senior Animation Programmer
As part of the Engine Animation Team, you’ll work across multiple projects, bridging the gap between animators, technical animators, and project engineers while fostering seamless collaboration between animation and code.
Leveraging our proprietary engine, Asura, you’ll implement character animations, refine gameplay mechanics, and elevate the visual responsiveness and polish of in-game characters.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement animation code for our in-house engine.
- Maintain and expand features within our animation systems, covering both content creation tools and runtime systems.
- Collaborate closely with content creators to design and develop tools and features.
- Write and test large-scale library and runtime animation code, including complex, reusable systems.
- Diagnose and resolve complex bugs in familiar and unfamiliar codebases.
- Create, review, and update technical and user documentation for animation solutions.
- Provide support to other team members or programmers from disciplines outside animation as needed.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
