The Work

You'll own parts of the Xapien pipeline end-to-end — LLM research agents, entity resolution, report generation. Prototype, evaluate, ship, measure, and improve.

  • Build a system optimised for accuracy, speed, and cost
  • Design evals that measure what matters, driving meaningful improvements
  • Dig into failures and fix them at the root
  • Shape and ship what’s next – high ownership

We use Claude Instruct by default and rarely write code ourselves. The craft is in:

  • Careful prompting
  • Tight loops
  • Sharp evaluations
  • Spotting when the agent's quietly wrong

You

  • Fluent in Claude Instruct, Codex, or similar agentic tooling
  • Strong numerical reasoning – top Uni CS / Maths / Engineering / Science, or equivalent demonstrated through your work
  • Shipped production-level LLM systems (e.g., RAG, prompting, agent handoff pipelines) the kind customers pay for
  • Worked at a fast-moving environment (startup or high-performing tech team) and make good calls with limited information
  • Experienced in software engineering – launched systems, managed incidents, designed for failures
  • High-agency mindset: You scope problems, own solutions, and help decide what we build next
  • Customer-focused: Answers real questions for real customers (theory is a tool, not the point)
  • Good to work with — small team sets high standards

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
