About us
Aligned Design Studio is a specialist design consultancy focused on Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), and complex project analysis and consulting.
We work with major contractors, developers, manufacturers, consultants and wider project teams across sectors including healthcare, aviation and data centres. Our work sits at the intersection of architecture, engineering, manufacturing and construction, helping clients deliver projects more efficiently through standardisation, offsite construction, design optimisation, logistics planning and technical coordination. We're a small nurturing, close-knit team working across the UK and internationally. Everyone has visibility of the work and a voice in how we do it.
The role
We are seeking an ambitious Senior Architect who enjoys solving complex problems, working directly with clients and leading a team. We're looking for someone who takes ownership, enjoys responsibility and wants to play a key role in building something ambitious.
This role requires a passionate Senior Architect who can work alongside the directors and subsequently lead strategic design and technical consultancy on complex projects and alternative forms of delivery. You will work directly with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver value driven buildability strategies, Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) approaches and delivery methodologies that improve certainty and efficiency across major programmes.
Experience of MMC, and general offsite construction is a key skillset being sought, but we're equally interested in strong technical architects from large and complex project backgrounds who are keen to develop specialist expertise in this area.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
