Senior Architect
Senior Architect (Design-led Architecture Practice)
About the Role
We are collaborating with an award-winning, design-led and sustainability-focused architecture practice seeking to appoint a Senior Architect as a priority hire due to expanding project growth.
This is a hands-on role for a high performer who can contribute immediately across design and delivery, primarily for UK-based projects. The practice operates at a human scale, positioning itself through housing, residential, community, cultural, and selective commercial projects.
You will join a small, tight-knit team with an emphasis on collaboration, initiative, and cultural alignment. There’s genuine room for progression, with opportunities to engage in broader studio operations over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to projects across multiple RIBA stages
- Deliver high-quality residential and housing schemes compliant with UK regulations
- Balance design thinking with technical delivery based on project requirements
- Collaborate closely with directors and senior team members within a flat-hierarchy environment
- Champion sustainable, retrofit, and heritage-led approaches where relevant
- Drive ideas, initiatives, and leadership in a small studio setting

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
