£30,399.91 - £46,406.14 (Dependent on experience)
37 Hours per week (working 9-5 with flexible working arrangements)

We are a collaborative practice with a broad range of experience, providing opportunities to contribute meaningfully to project delivery across a wide range of RIBA Stages. South West Norse is also committed to supporting emerging talent, working closely with apprentices and work placement students.
Our work is primarily focused on the education sector, spanning early years, primary and secondary schools, further and higher education, and SEND provision. Alongside this, we deliver a diverse range of projects across other commercial sectors for public and private clients, offering a varied, stimulating, and rewarding workload.
Main Responsibilities
- Act as project lead where appropriate and liaise with and coordinate other professional teams across all RIBA work stages.
- Develop designs and produce detailed technical drawings, specifications, and construction information to a high-quality professional standard.
- Operate independently on assigned projects and provide management, supervision, and guidance to team members working under your direction.
- Prepare and submit Planning and Building Control applications, securing the necessary statutory approvals.
- Undertake design and technical reviews of projects within the design team as required.
- Support junior team members by providing guidance, mentoring, and reviewing their work.
- Travel regularly to client and consultant offices, as well as construction sites, as required by project needs.
- Identify and help develop new business opportunities to support the growth of the organisation.
- Demonstrate personal commitment to the Norse Way CSR strategy.

Candidate Requirements
- Professional accreditation such as CIAT (or progress toward accreditation/chartership) is preferred, or other appropriate technical qualifications and competencies expected of a senior role.
- Extensive experience leading and delivering complex construction projects from early concept stages through to completion.
- Good experience of working on Educational Projects.
- Advanced proficiency in Revit (essential), supported by strong capability in Autodesk 2D drafting.
- Excellent specification writing skills, ideally using the NBS Chorus platform.
- Strong design, technical, and construction knowledge, with excellent technical detailing skills for both new build and existing buildings.
- In-depth knowledge of UK Building Regulations, the Building Safety Act, and construction methods.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of individual and team responsibilities, meet project deadlines, and work productively both autonomously and as part of a team.
- Strong communicator with a proactive, solution-focused mindset and the confidence to engage with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.
- Positive attitude toward collaborative working, continuous improvement, and high technical standards.
