Location: Remote Contract: Full-time (6 months initially with a view to be extended or made permanent)

At Fusebox Games, we create world-leading choice-based narrative mobile games enjoyed by millions of players around the globe. Since launching in 2016, we've become a leader in interactive narrative experiences through globally recognised licensed IPs and original stories.
We're looking for an experienced Senior Artist who has previous management experience to help mentor a team of artists and drive the visual quality of our games. This role is ideal for someone who combines exceptional artistic ability with strong creative judgement, management skills, and a passion for raising quality across an entire project.
As a Senior Artist, you'll take ownership of high-impact artwork, influence the visual direction of our games, mentor other artists, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver engaging player experiences.
The Role
As a Senior Artist, you'll be responsible for creating and directing high-quality visual assets while championing artistic excellence across the project. You'll play a key role in defining visual standards, improving workflows, supporting external partners, and helping develop the wider art team.
This is a highly collaborative role, working closely with Art, Product, Narrative, Design, and Production to ensure our games deliver a consistently high-quality visual experience.
What You'll Be Doing
Artistic Ownership
- Own the creation of complex and high-impact visual game-ready assets.
- Take responsibility for the artistic quality of new features and seasonal content.
- Provide artistic direction across the Big Brother project for characters, backgrounds, and props.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, consistency, and artistic standards.

Art Direction & Quality
- Produce polished artwork requiring minimal revisions.
- Create and maintain style guides that establish clear visual standards.
- Ensure consistency across characters, environments, UI, and promotional assets.
- Review and polish artwork ahead of final implementation.
- Maintain exceptional attention to detail throughout the production process.
- Identify and resolve visual inconsistencies before release.
Collaboration
- Work closely with Product, Narrative, Design, QA, and Production teams.
- Help define and evolve the visual identity of our games.
- Clearly communicate artistic vision and provide constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with external outsourcing partners to maintain quality standards.
- Solve visual challenges through collaboration and creative thinking.
Technical & Creative Expertise
- Demonstrate expert knowledge within your artistic discipline.
- Apply strong understanding of:
- Character design & anatomy
- Digital painting & Adobe suite
- Shape language
- Colour & light theory
- Composition
- Mobile game art pipelines
- Balance artistic ambition with technical limitations.
- Ensure artwork is optimised for mobile performance without compromising quality.
- Continuously seek opportunities to enhance the player experience through art.
Leadership & Mentorship
- Manage, mentor, and support junior and mid-level artists.
- Conduct 1:1s and end-of-year reviews.
- Share knowledge, techniques, and best practices across the team.
- Provide detailed paint-overs, feedback, and guidance to internal and outsourced artists.
- Help raise the overall visual standard of the department.
- Contribute to the growth and development of the wider art team.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who combines exceptional artistic talent with leadership, collaboration, and a passion for creating outstanding player experiences.
You'll ideally have:
- Extensive professional experience creating game art for commercial titles.
- Experience producing high-quality assets for mobile or live-service games.
- Excellent artistic fundamentals with exceptional attention to detail.
- Relevant experience in managing other artists.
- Experience creating and maintaining visual style guides.
- Strong understanding of visual storytelling and player readability.
- Experience collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and feedback skills.
- Experience mentoring artists and helping develop creative talent.
- A proactive, collaborative, and solutions-focused approach.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working on narrative-driven or free-to-play mobile games.
- Experience directing outsourced art teams.
- UI/UX design experience.
- Experience helping define or evolve an art style.
- Knowledge of optimisation techniques for mobile games.
- Experience working with licensed IPs or established brands.
