About The Role
Join Network Rail as a Senior Asset Engineer [Building Services] and play a key role in leading the maintenance and renewal of operational property building services and depot plant assets. Providing specialist engineering expertise, you will support the safe, reliable and efficient management of assets, helping to deliver Network Rail's operational, regulatory and strategic objectives.
Working in a collaborative environment, you will:
- Lead asset inspections and condition assessments
- Develop maintenance and renewal strategies
- Oversee the delivery of engineering schemes
- Undertake engineering analysis and risk assessments
- Monitor asset performance trends
- Provide expert technical guidance to support informed asset management decisions
As a technical leader, you will act as sponsor for complex maintenance and renewal schemes, provide engineering support during incident investigations and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered in line with Network Rail standards and policies. You will also support tenant compliance activities and maintain the integrity of asset information and records.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead and manage the asset stewardship and inspection of building services and plant assets in accordance with asset policy and technical strategy.
- Make recommendations for repair and renewal works and assist with the development and management of prioritised maintenance and renewal workbanks and plans.
- Determine asset condition to identify and validate renewal proposals.
- Lead the production of maintenance and renewal remits and their inclusion in the workbank.
- Oversee the development and implementation of schemes to ensure requirements are sufficient, correctly interpreted and delivered.
- Specify and monitor the implementation of control measures where proposed works are deferred.
- Act as sponsor for complex and specialist maintenance and all renewal schemes, discharging sponsor accountabilities in accordance with corporate policy.
- Lead engineering analysis and risk assessments of maintenance and renewal schemes during the early development phase and develop business cases where appropriate.
- Review proposals from other asset groups and external organisations that may impact maintenance or renewal activities, identifying synergies and opportunities to optimise delivery plans.
- Monitor trends in maintenance and renewal work, asset condition, failures and failure precursors, ensuring appropriate corrective action is identified and implemented.
- Provide engineering support and participate in investigations relating to building services and plant maintenance and renewals.
- Lead and manage the reporting of tenant lease non-compliance and monitor tenant dilapidations relating to building services and plant.
- Develop and implement processes to maintain accurate records relating to the existence, configuration and modification history of building services and plant assets.

Band 3C £55,596 - £65,966 Plus an Inner London allowance of £3,270.

Drugs And Alcohol Standard
Depending on the role, candidates that are made a conditional offer, may be required to undergo and pass a drugs and alcohol test. Your offer will be rescinded if you record a positive test. All positive drugs and alcohol test results will be securely held on Sentinel database and a five-year suspension from applying for a safety critical role, a role which requires PTS certification or a Key Safety role on Network Rail Managed Infrastructure will be enforced.

BPSS government standard pre-employment vetting requires Network Rail to screen a potential employee's unspent criminal convictions and undertake 3-year career checks. Your Experience And Skills
Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Incorporated Engineer
- Membership of relevant professional institution
- Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject
- Substantial relevant experience of operational property engineering
- Comprehensive knowledge of policies and standards relating to operational property
Desirable Skills, Experience And Qualifications
- Chartered Engineer
- Member of relevant professional body
- Broad understanding of safety management systems and risk assessment techniques
