Senior Asset Management Surveyor
Location: Exeter
Salary: Up to £60,124 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday (9-5 with flexible working hours)
South West Norse is a partnership between Norse Group and Devon County Council. Established in 2007, our Joint Venture (JV) company provides essential services to the Council.
About the Role
An exciting opportunity for a Senior Asset Management Surveyor has arisen to join our Estates Management team based in our Exeter office. In this role, you will assist in the delivery of current Estate & Asset Management services while taking ownership of strategic tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading the identification, review, and provision of strategic advice on property management and regeneration issues, including the formulation of plans for the effective use of land and property assets
- Conducting effective property reviews and offering proactive, responsive strategic advice on all property management challenges
- Managing data support for clients, ensuring that deeds, drawings, maps, and database systems remain up to date
- Coordinating complex projects, including:
- Condition surveys
- Asbestos surveys
- Land surveys
- Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs)
- Discipline Energy Consumption (DEC) reports
- Overseeing drawing, mapping, information, data, and media filing & archiving processes
- Meeting deadlines and quality targets for property reviews and strategic management reports
- Assisting with general surveyor duties, aligned with professional standards
- Preparing reports and briefings for clients, attending committees and relevant working groups where necessary
- Providing day-to-day professional property advice while maintaining output quality
- Leading team performance management
- Managing projects to agreed timelines while adhering to company directives and maximising productivity
- Identifying and securing new business opportunities
- Monitoring and reviewing income and expenditure within the team
- Ensuring compliance with Norse Group ISO standards while delivering quality-assured outputs
- Undertaking additional duties as deemed appropriate for the role, including occasional travel to other offices

Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will need to demonstrate:
- Chartered Membership of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS)
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in an Estates-related discipline
- 5 to 10 years of relevant post-qualification experience
- Ideally:
- Experience working within a Local Authority and Local Government Reform
- Familiarity with Concerto software (or equivalent) and ArcGIS mapping (or equivalent)
- Asset Management Qualification such as an ACES or CIPFA Strategic Asset Management Diploma
- Full UK Driving Licence
