Senior Accounts Payable & Receivable Manager – European Finance

The Senior Accounts Payable & Receivable Manager will lead the European Finance Accounts Payable & Receivable Team, ensuring financial goals, plans, and initiatives align with business strategies. This critical accountabilities role oversees daily operations, payment system approvals, and acts as the primary internal and external contact for prompt resolution of payment-related matters. You’ll ensure full compliance with internal policies and governing regulations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising team operations and managing direct reports.
- Coordinating ** Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable** processes for the entire European region.
- Mitigating operational, regulatory, and compliance risks while fostering an inclusive, high-performing culture.
- Driving efficiency in payment and invoicing workflows while maintaining client relationships and promoting broader bank systems integration.
Accountabilities
Financial Operations
- Receipt and settlement of supplier invoices within agreed payment terms.
- Processing of employee personal expense claims and Company credit card statements.
- Raising and approving intercompany charges with group companies.
- Managing Accounts Receivable invoicing to ensure timely settlements.
- Overseeing the regional travel booking model and prompt payment reconciliation.

Problem Resolution
- Escalation contact for external supplier invoicing queries.
- Resolution of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable bank reconciliation discrepancies.
- Troubleshooting financial process inefficiencies and ensuring automation/control standards.
Collaborative Support
- Support the Finance Management Information Team in preparing monthly accrual and prepayment journals.
- Assist colleagues across the wider Finance Team with invoicing queries and ongoing training.
- Maintain up-to-date process documentation for team responsibilities.
Leadership & Training
- Direct line management responsibility for Accounts Payable clerks.
- Deputz (cover) the Team Senior Manager in their absence.
- Lead and support project initiatives for the Senior Manager.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to Operational Risk, Regulatory Compliance (AML/ATF), and Code of Conduct obligations, aligning operational rigor to Bank policies and frameworks (e.g. AML/ATF Global Handbook, Operational Risk Management Framework).
- Understand how the Bank’s risk culture impacts financial activities.
Education & Experience
Required Qualifications
- Relevant accountancy qualification.
- Proven experience in Accounts Payable, Receivable, and Expense Management, preferably within a multinational or financial institution context.
- Hands-on experience with outsourced invoice processing teams.

Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced analytical techniques).
- Strong grasp of financial controls, workflow automation, and payment compliance frameworks.

- Exceptional communication skills, ensuring transparency with internal/external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to nurture collaborative relationships in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
