Senior Assistant Merchandiser

Stylish, grounded, uplifting – these values live through everything we do at Boden. Without the collaboration, honesty and friendship between our teams, we wouldn’t be where we are today. We curate a world of beauty that’s ethical, inclusive – and importantly – good fun. We inspire you to live your best life. We are Boden.

Overview

As a Senior Assistant Merchandiser, you will play a key role in planning and delivering profitable, customer-focused product ranges. Partnering closely with the Merchandiser and cross-functional teams, you’ll use data, insight, and structured processes to support confident commercial decision-making.

This role suits someone who is highly numerate, organised, and proactive, with a strong eye for detail and a genuine passion for merchandising. You’ll take ownership of key areas including forecasting, stock management, and trade reporting, while contributing to the overall performance of the department.

Location: 3-4 days per week at our North Acton office, with 1-2 days WFH.

What You Will Do

  • Analyse trading performance to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, using insights to inform decision-making
  • Support range planning by contributing to key meetings and working confidently with KPIs and critical path timelines
  • Own forecasting for selected product areas, making clear and commercially sound recommendations
  • Build and review size ratios through regular performance analysis
  • Monitor market and competitor activity to support trading decisions
  • Manage the Purchase Order process, ensuring accuracy and timely approvals
  • Track intake against plan, highlighting risks and proposing solutions
  • Lead weekly intake meetings, driving accountability across teams
  • Support the WSSI process, maintaining accurate and up-to-date OTB management
  • Recommend and implement markdown strategies to optimise stock and margin
  • Produce and present weekly trade packs, clearly communicating performance and actions
  • Proactively drive trade by identifying opportunities to maximise sales and minimise risk

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
