Role description:

Arcadis is looking for Senior Associate, Architect to join our Industrial, Manufacturing & Technology team in UK. If you’re a senior, experienced, highly motivated Architect with ambition to achieve your full career potential, read on.

Working alongside senior leadership in the broader Architectural team, you will be responsible for the delivery of projects in our Industrial, Manufacturing & Technology sector (IMT). Arcadis have an enviable reputation in this sector and are working closely with many blue-chip IMT clients. Projects include giga factories, major fulfilment/logistics centres, complex manufacturing facilities, and data centres. The project workload will be varied and in addition to traditional design, we undertake technical advisory services too.

In line with the broader Architecture & Urbanism unit strategy, you will support the team’s drive for integration of digital innovation including BIM. You will support the integration of standardisation and automation of design delivery.

Role accountabilities:

  • Lead operational delivery of projects within the Infrastructure, Manufacturing & Technology (IMT) sector, ensuring best-in-class outcomes.
  • Provide professional project leadership at a senior level, fostering strong relationships with project teams and clients.
  • Take full ownership and accountability for the successful delivery of assigned projects.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality Assurance (QA) processes and project governance standards.
  • Manage projects to be delivered on time, within budget, and meeting or exceeding client expectations.
  • Support the pursuit and business development teams by contributing to bid preparation and participating in client interviews as needed.
  • Focus on strengthening existing client relationships through excellence in project delivery rather than new client acquisition.
  • Champion the integration of digital innovation, including Building Information Modelling (BIM), in line with Architecture & Urbanism unit strategy.
  • Promote and support standardisation and automation initiatives to enhance design delivery efficiency and quality.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience delivering architectural projects across all RIBA stages using both traditional and design & build construction routes.
  • Demonstrated expertise designing industrial assets such as factories, fulfilment centres, data centres, rail or transportation facilities.
  • Experience working within multi-disciplinary design teams on large, complex IMT projects.
  • Passion for design excellence and a willingness to adopt new and innovative approaches.
  • Flexibility to travel occasionally across the UK and internationally.
  • Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation, hazards, and safe systems of work, with experience leading continuous improvement in Safe by Design.
  • Ability to manage health, safety and welfare within your area of responsibility and drive improvements in related processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal, ethical and communication skills, able to engage effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders both verbally and in writing.
  • Sound commercial awareness, familiarity with contractual conditions and procedures, and the capability to take commercial responsibility for project delivery.
  • Proven experience in design management, client relationship management, quality assurance and continuous improvement on large-scale, complex projects, with an understanding of sustainable development best practice.
