Senior Associate – Client Valuations (Business Client Services)
About the Opportunity
You will join the Senior Associate role within the Client Valuations team in Business Client Services (BCS) Regulatory Services.
This is a full-time, permanent position, requiring 4 days in-office attendance.
Key Responsibilities
Application and System Development
- Develop and support applications used in the Client Valuations team, including workbooks facilitating regulatory processes for:
- Dodd Frank
- SEC
- EMIR
- MiFID
- Develop and support RAD (Rapid Application Development) applications
- Proactively review and enhance the control framework in European BCS, with a focus on operational risk management
Client Valuations
- Produce and deliver daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end client valuations timely and in compliance with regulatory rules
- Proactively identify and implement improvements to valuation reporting processes and control frameworks
- Continuously develop product/market knowledge to optimise daily processes and reduce operational risk
- Ensure transactions are valued in line with RBC’s standing orders and policy papers
- Establish and document client valuation procedures in accordance with BCS guidelines and RBC policies
- Perform portfolio reconciliations to ensure compliance with:
- Dodd Frank
- EMIR

Requirements
Must-Have
- A degree in Quantitative, Finance, or Economics (or equivalent)
- Strong IT skills, including:
- Python
- Visual Basic for Excel
- Familiarity with derivative products (unique quantitative pricing knowledge is not required, but the ability to learn and understand complex valuations is essential)
- Attention to detail and accuracy – critical to mitigate reputational risk
- Ability to analyse business processes and implement changes effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Nice-to-Have
- Previous experience in Client Valuations or a similar client-facing role
- Project management skills (to influence/participate in projects in the client valuations area)
