Senior Associate – Client Valuations (Business Client Services, Regulatory Services)
About the Role
You will join as a Senior Associate in the Client Valuations team under Business Client Services (BCS) Regulatory Services. This is a full-time permanent position, requiring 4 days on-site presence.
What You Will Do

Develop and support applications used in the Client Valuations team, including workbooks that facilitate key regulatory processes for:
- Dodd-Frank
- SEC
- EMIR
- MiFID

Develop and support RAD (Risk and Analytics Dashboard) applications while proactively reviewing and enhancing the control framework within European BCS. Your goal will be to:
- Develop, implement, and continuously enhance operational risk management practices

Produce and deliver timely valuations at the following intervals (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, year-end), ensuring compliance with regulatory rules.

Proactively:
- Identify and deliver improvements to client valuation reporting processes and controls
- Continuously develop product/market knowledge to ensure procedural appropriateness and minimise operational risk

Ensure client transactions are valued according to RBC’s standing orders and policy papers

Establish and document client valuations procedures in alignment with:
- BCS guidelines
- RBC policies

- Perform portfolio reconciliations with clients to support their compliance under:
- Dodd-Frank
- EMIR
What You Need to Succeed
Must-Have Skills & Experience
- A Quantitative, Finance, or Economics degree (or equivalent)
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in:
- Python
- Visual Basic for Excel
- Familiarity with derivative products (no experience in quantitative product pricing required, but ability to learn nuanced valuations is essential)
- Attention to detail and accuracy (critical for reputational risk mitigation)
- Capability to:
- Analyse business processes
- Implement improvements as needed
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Nice-to-Have
- Previous experience in Client Valuations or a client-facing role
- Project management skills (to contribute to initiatives impacting client valuations)
