Looking for your next opportunity? We are looking for a bright and commercially focused Senior Associate to join our highly regarded London Corporate Transactions team within the Gambling/Technology, Media & Communication (TMC) M&A sub-team.
Our Sector Expertise
CMS is recognised as one of Europe’s leading firms for the Gambling and TMC sub-sectors. We hold Legal 500 and Chambers Band 1 rankings in Gambling and key Media & Entertainment categories and are one of the largest and most experienced Gambling and TMC groups in the UK and Europe, with more than 300 lawyers across the full range of service lines specialising in these industry sectors.
Our client roster spans both household names and growth companies in online and retail gambling, digital content, broadcasting, publishing, music and entertainment, video gaming and advertising (and investors focussed on these sectors), which generates a significant volume of buy side and sell side M&A and other transactional mandates.
About The Role
As part of our Gambling and TMC transactional practice, you’ll work on cross border deals from day one, the majority of which will involve bespoke and unusual structures and dynamics which provide excellent opportunities to challenge an ambitious and creative corporate lawyer. You’ll collaborate across our 90 plus international offices and work closely with experts in IP, data protection, commercial tech, gambling regulatory, competition and disputes to deliver deals in some of the fastest moving sectors of the global economy. We want our corporate lawyers to become genuine subject matter experts in the industry sectors they are immersed in.
If you want exposure to exciting work, innovative and often entrepreneurial clients and complex cross border transactions, CMS offers a platform where you can grow and specialise and develop some first-class industry specific expertise.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
